Laser outline option allows you to measure distances between objects in a cross-section.
Start with choosing a location for a cross-section. Use the slider labeled ‘Clipping plane’ in the window if you wish to change the position of the clipping plane(cross section). You can also easily switch between 2D and 3D views by clicking the camera icon located below the slider.
‘Model list’ displays all the models with color-coding currently visible in the view. If you’ve adjusted the camera position, you can update the list of models by using the ‘Update’ function. Hiding models from the view is straightforward; simply click the eye icon next to their name.
To obtain measurements, activate the ‘Laser’ function and then click in the space between the two objects. A laser will appear, creating both vertical and horizontal lines and automatically displaying distances in these directions.
To obtain the distance to the next object, click the arrows on the laser. If you wish to remove a measurement from the view, click the ‘X’ icon next to the displayed distance value.
