To set up the connection between the database in your Novorender scene and a Power BI dashboard, please contact us to receive a starting .pbix file and an API key for your organization.
Firstly, we need to establish a connection using the API key and SCENE ID for our project. As a result, we will be able to access all the metadata in the scene.
Open the Power BI file and follow the instruction below:
After these operations, please save the changes in the query.
Secondly, we are sending a request to the database of our scene for a specific property and its value. In this example, we are using a PROPERTY called ENTERPRISE, and the VALUE is set to HS01. Follow the steps below:
Save the changes in the query. This operation may take several minutes, depending on the number of elements/objects in the request.
As a result, the dashboard is going to display ONLY the information about all objects that have the requested by property name and value. This is equivalent to choosing objects in Novorender by using Selection Basket:
